Problem Statement & Insights

Through conversations with regular travelers and families moving abroad, I identified a major pain point: The Transition Gap. Most users felt lost because information was scattered across too many places, making the moving process feel disorganized and overwhelming. This lack of a clear path often slowed down their ability to settle in and feel comfortable in their new environment.
The Main Challenges Faced
  • Disconnected Planning: People had plenty of online research but struggled to use that information effectively once they were actually walking the streets of a new city.
  • Scattered Logistics: Handling different needs, like finding a house, tracking shipped boxes, and finding local shops, was a messy process because there wasn't one single app to manage it all.
  • Language and Culture Walls: Most travel apps only show basic tourist spots and don't help users understand local signs or find the "hidden gems" that only locals know about.
  • Safety and Navigation Uncertainty: Users expressed anxiety about not knowing which areas were safe or how to find essential services like hospitals or grocery stores in real-time.
  • The "Tourist" Barrier: Many tools failed to help users transition from being a visitor to feeling like a local, leaving them feeling isolated from the community.

Designing a Seamless Travel Ecosystem

Collaborating with the product team, I transformed a fragmented planning process into a unified digital experience. By prioritizing user feedback, we simplified complex tasks, like shipment tracking and neighborhood navigation, into an intuitive interface that provides instant, real-time support.

Onboarding and Personalized Setup

The Goal: I wanted to create a friction-free entry point that immediately addresses "information overload" for new arrivals.

My Decision: I kept the account creation flow lean, asking only for essential details to prevent user drop-off. I specifically added a "Countries of Interest" step so the system could filter out irrelevant content upfront.

The Value: This provides users with a custom-tailored guide for their destination, replacing generic travel noise with actionable, localized data.

The Home Hub and Logistics Management

The Goal: My aim was to build a central command center that solves "logistical blindness"

My Decision: I prioritized Shipment Tracking at the top, this layout gives users immediate peace of mind regarding the status of their belongings.

The Value: Providing high-level visibility into package status and nearby services reduces relocation stress and puts the user firmly in control of their move.

Project Context and Background

Trivadi is an AR-powered mobile platform designed to bridge the gap for individuals and families relocating or exploring new countries.

As global mobility increases, I identified a critical need for a unified medium that manages the logistical burden of shipping while providing high-fidelity travel insights.

My focus was on creating a seamless digital companion that empowers users to maximize their new environment by uncovering local events, hidden places, and essential services from day one.

My Role & Approach

As the sole UX/UI Designer, I owned the end-to-end design strategy for Trivadi. My responsibility was to transform fragmented relocation needs into a unified digital ecosystem by leading the research, ideation, and final high-fidelity execution.

01 Discovery

I conducted user research and surveys to uncover the core logistical and emotional hurdles of moving abroad. This phase grounded the project in real-world friction points, ensuring the design addressed actual user pain points rather than assumptions.

02 Define

I synthesized my findings into empathy maps and personas to align the product’s features with human goals. By analyzing the data deeply, I established a clear direction for a solution that felt both relevant and highly personalized.

03 Ideation

I architected the user experience through detailed journey maps and sitemaps aimed at removing navigation bottlenecks. Using "How Might We" frameworks, I explored how to best integrate AR and logistics into a seamless, intuitive flow.

04 Design

I translated the strategy into a polished visual system and a scalable Design Kit. This ensured visual consistency across all features while providing a developer-ready foundation for the entire platform.

Research Strategy

To build a solution that resonates with global travelers, I led a research phase focused on the lived experiences of itinerant families. My goal was to move beyond assumptions and uncover the specific logistical and emotional friction points.

I conducted deep-dive interviews with 7 diverse candidates, including singles, families, and travel industry professionals. This qualitative approach provided the rich insights needed to design a platform that addresses the real-world complexities of relocation and long-term travel.

Grounding Design in Data

Following the interviews, I developed a comprehensive survey document to gather broader quantitative data. This step was essential for validating my initial findings at scale, providing the statistical depth needed to ensure the project’s direction was backed by a solid data foundation.

Visualizing the Path to Purchase

I architected a detailed User Journey Map centered on the core product experience to visualize how users interact with the platform at every critical touchpoint. This strategic exercise allowed me to identify and resolve high-friction moments early in the process, ensuring the final flow was optimized for a smooth, intuitive experience.

Defining Our Core Users

These weren't just profiles, they served as a living compass for the team, allowing us to step into the users' shoes and advocate for their specific goals, frustrations, and behaviors at every stage of the design process.
